francisco. their fishing boat capsized a mile off shore. monty francis is near highway 1 in san mateo county with the latest for us. >> reporter: good evening. we spoke to the family of one of the missing boaters and they are hoping and praying he will turn up alive. it has been 12 hours since the boat capsized and the search is underway still tonight. family members shouted the names of the missing clinging to hope their loved ones would return safe. among them the wife of one of the men from san francisco. he shared her anguish. >> i want my husband to come back. we are waiting for you. >> tang who has a 7-year-old daughter left this morning from san francisco with three friends for a fishing trip. hours later, one mile off shore from the pichblgen point light house a large wave hit their 23-foot boat and it capsized. two of the men had life vests and swam to shore not far from where their boat ended up on the rocks. the other two, including tang, did not have life jackets and are still lost at sea. tang's sister says the four friends are all experienced boaters. >> he knows how to swim. >

will tell you more. right now frustrating traffic closures and delays this weekend in san francisco thanks to numerous events from fleet week to america's cup prelims. >> amy hollyfield is live along the embarcadero with a look ahead. one busy spot. >> reporter: it is going to be interesting. this is going to be a tough spot because the crowds will be thick. there's a nice wide sidewalk here but they expect this to be packed with pedestrians. so, where to put the bicyclists? city officials are going to try a novel idea. northbound lane on the embarcadero closed down, just for bicyclists. they think it is good because they want to keep them often sidewalk away from the pedestrians. there are -- there are signs around the embarcadero flashing now warning people of how crowded it is going to be. the plan for the bicyclists has not been widely publicized this is a new idea. they are going to shutdown a lane between bay and washington starting tomorrow. really, the message is, just don't even try to drive a car down here on the embarcadero this weekend. the elite flight team will take to the sk

come in time for halloween. >> following developing news out of san francisco right now. a woman is badly injured after a shooting and a car crash. >> reporter: it happened just before four this morning in city's western edition neighborhood. according to a detective a 30- year-old woman who was driving this car, you see flipped over -- that's now in the process of getting towed. she was shot four times and while on the way to the hospital she said she had been trying to park when she heard and felt the gun fire. police have been searching through the crime scene since early this morning marking shell casings and bullet holes. they say there were two shooters involve though they don't have any suspect descriptions. based on where all the shell casings are it seems to indicate that the shooters walked up to the car and opened fire. one of the detectives said they don't think it was a random attack. they suspect woman had a connection to the people who shot her. as far the woman's condition he is expected to survive. she was taken to the hospital and is having surgery and is in st

of the san francisco police department that i am proud to call heroes. sgt josh espinoza, officer ha, and officer solorzano. december 31, this batch had a call that a vehicle was on fire at 1645 folsom street and indicated -- they did not indicate if anyone was in the car or not. sgt espinoza was the first unit on the scene. he arrived on the scene, did a quick survey and then notified dispatch of what was going on. while surveying the scene, he realized an individual was trapped in the driver's seat in the car was engulfed in flames. fully knowing the danger that was in front of him, he did not hesitate. he immediately ran to the car and began to attempt to remove the individual from the burning vehicle. once he reached the vehicle, he realized the person was unconscious and still strapped in his car. at this point the flames began to blow over the windshield. the fire department was still not on scene. even though the heat was intense and possibility of the gas tank could explode at any time, sergeant espinoza did not retreat. at this time, officer ha and solorzana arrived on scene

grey enter the residence and started walking up the stairs while announcing san francisco police department. officers could see the carpeted stairs and walls inside the house were covered in blood. at the top of the stairs was always there ran perpendicular to the stairs. there was still no signs of the suspect or family members. officers made the decision they would have to clear the upstairs room by room. officer i. singh and hernandez went to the right. -- esein. as officer carrasco and heppler went left and saw a body lying prone at the end of the hallway. they saw the body was drenched in blood, and the victim was still breathing. based on his prior experience as a paramedic, officer carrasco knew they needed to be rescued immediately if there was to be any chance of the person surviving. officer carrasco told heppler i will pull her out. with complete disregard for his own safety, he ground the bleeding person by the feet and began to drag her to safety. it was later determined that the stick them was the suspect 73- year-old mother who had been stabbed through the neck. he

>> kron 4 news starts now with a developing story. let it right to san francisco a scene of a recent fire. this particular one occurred in the west portal avenue at exactly 9 west portal avenue adjacent to the west portal station. at cafe caught on fire after 5:00 a.m. let's get to the scene we have our kron 4 reporter giving us the latest. have the flames died down?. >> the flames have stopped bursting through which they have been doing the last half-hour. this is a fire that officials say is a difficult fire to fight because of the location of the building. 110 firefighters on seen it is up to a fourth alarm fire. you can see the ladders are spraying water on top of the building. lots of crews on seen as you can the slot and gobble cafe in the background the west portal muni station. no trains are coming through. there is nowhere to go one of the muni trains had to pull over and let 75 to 100 people off. these firefighters are continuing to be on the scene to control the fire. it is difficult because it is on the corner. you can see the flames behind the trees again pop
